Each team plays the role of elves, Santa’s little helpers tasked with preparing gifts and decorations in the lead up to Christmas. Their goal is to accumulate goods by building relationships with other groups of Elves, while using their cunning to gather vital information.

The game takes place over 4 game days, each day starts with the groups of Elves trading and ends with them returning to Lapland, to be rewarded by Santa. As the game progresses, the groups of elves develop relationships with other groups of elves and share gained knowledge.

Results: A quick and clever activity where teams negotiate and trade to maximise their returns. Although this is a competitive exercise, the most successful teams are those that collaborate with others to build win-win outcomes while at the same time focusing on their own bottom line results.

During a review process, winning strategies are shared and pertinent learnings are applied to the workplace.

Participants indicate the extent to which they agree or disagree with the statements and express the reasons for their opinions. This generates a discussion which each team member takes a turn at leading, ensuring that everyone has a voice.

Speak Up Speak Out challenges your team to instill a practical application of your corporate values, and deliver an understanding of how to utilize and implement the values in everyday work situations. Work Styles starts with participants considering their own working style and writing down their preferences on a number of given subjects. Next they get to know their peers by networking the room and finding out how others match their own styles. The aim of the game is to find as many matches as possible. With the group energized, it is time to form into teams of similar working styles.

The groups discuss and define the characteristics of their preferred working styles. Then they carry out a team activity. Next they form teams with as many different work styles as possible a similar activity to the last. A group facilitator then leads a group discussion exploring why it is productive to have a range of working styles within a team, but also why this may not be effective if there is limited appreciation of the different ways in which each other work.

Results: Research shows that the most effective teams are formed of people with a variety of working styles. However these differences can cause conflict if they are not appreciated. If understood, appreciated and embraced, they will lead to more effective innovation and ideation.

Knowing Me Knowing You – Work Styles is a team building activity that has been specifically designed to help participants understand each other, and appreciate how both those with similar and different working styles can be key contributors to the productivity of the team. It gives participants the opportunity to explore the way in which they personally tend to work.

The challenge takes place in the Trucial States back in the 1800s. Families negotiate to increase their wealth, trading in dates, camels, fish, spices, pearls, water, money and the all important information. Split into ‘families’ and armed with a pouch of Arabian themed trading goods the teams are challenged with the objective of maximising their families’ wealth. Teams need to understand what other families need using questioning and negotiation skills. Reinforcing that information is power only when shared. Teams negotiate and trade to maximise their returns. Final scores reflect the teams interaction and approach.

Results: Arabian Market is a fun and interactive challenge, that is powered by communication, reinforces networking and the importance of positive relationships. It maximises on clearly understanding the value of information. Working on a win/win solution will be essential to succeed.

Although this is a competitive exercise, the most successful teams are those that collaborate with others to build win-win outcomes while at the same time focusing on their own bottom line results.

The Curio Show is an intriguing game of deductive reasoning, a little guesswork and bluff, just like Antiques Roadshow. Avoiding the mundane world of plates, vases and furniture, the game features a diverse collection of curio objects set a top plinths, ranging from the intriguing to the downright bizarre.

In the Curio Show, teams browse the curios. Simple questions will provoke lively debate as to age, value and intended use of each item. Teams then take it in turns to provide three descriptions of an antique, only one of which is correct. The other teams guess which description is the correct one. The truth is revealed and the winners awarded prizes!

A light-hearted competition introducing players to the world of wine tasting​!

After an introduction to the world of wine by our trainers, the teams get to sample everything from top-class wines to supermarket specials.​

In addition to tips and hints they learn from their host, each receives a number of reference sheets to guide their decision-making process.​

Blindfolded, the teams are then asked to guess the country of origin, grape variety, vintage and price band of a selection of wines.

Bonus points are awarded for guessing the correct year and price.​

Active participation is further encouraged in a blending round where teams are challenged to concoct their own unique blend from different grape varieties.​

The team’s creative talents are then put to test as they script and present an evocative brand description for their new blend.​

The winning team are celebrated and awarded with prizes

The event ends with a high-energy, Eurovision-style show, where each nation launches its new identity in a choreographed extravaganza with flags, songs, dances and national costumes.

River Runner mixes the thrills of rafting with the task of running an extreme sports company and creates a thought-provoking, motivational indoor game.

The game is focused on balancing customer satisfaction and profitability.

Each team acts as a rafting company whose task is to organise an expedition down one of the world’s longest and most challenging rivers. Even if participants don’t go into water, they get access to a full-size inflatable boat, paddles, life jackets and all sorts of equipment which is vital for the expedition.

It takes quick and efficient team management to gather vital information, and a flexible approach to take advantage of unexpected events. It also requires additional information that is encountered along the river. Success is achieved by striking a balance between being the first rafting company to cross the river and satisfying demanding customers.

Maintaining a “clean” safety record is just as important as making a profit at the end of the game.
