What is Game of Skills?

Game of Skills is an outdoor team-building activity designed as an interactive adventure challenge, in which teams explore a route, activate game points on the map and complete themed missions.

Each challenge tests a different skill: observation, logic, general knowledge, creativity, spatial awareness, communication or quick decision-making. Teams must devise their strategy, choose the order of the tasks and make clever use of the time available to score as many points as possible.

It is an interactive experience,  which is very easy to customise, transforming the venue into a playground full of energy, surprises and memorable moments.

How does it work?

Participants are divided into teams and given access to a digital map with predefined checkpoints. To trigger the challenges, teams must reach specific areas along the route, where they discover clues, questions or themed tasks.

Each team devises its own strategy: which points to tackle first, how much time to allocate to each mission, who will keep an eye on the details, who will respond to challenges, who will coordinate the route, and who will handle the photo, video or creative tasks.

The game can include different themed areas, special props, bonus missions and challenges tailored to the company’s culture or the participants’ profiles.

At the end, the teams come together for the final score, highlights, a recap and a moment to celebrate the best ideas, reactions and moments from the game.

When is Game of Skills the right choice?

Game of Skills is ideal for companies looking for an active, competitive and easily customisable outdoor team-building activity that is more complex than a simple treasure hunt.

It’s a very good choice when you want to generate energy, interaction and genuine collaboration amongst participants.

It works well for mixed teams, cross-departmental groups or organisations that want to explore, in a fun way, how people observe, communicate, make decisions and adapt to different challenges.

It blends in naturally with:

  • outdoor team-building activities focusing on energy and discovery
  • off-site events or retreats with daytime activities as the main focus
  • engagement programs for mixed teams
  • kick-off sessions focusing on agility, strategy and collaboration
  • team-building days, followed by socialising, dinner or a party

Why does it deliver results?

Game of Skills works because it places teams in a dynamic context where no single skill guarantees success. Some tasks require attention to detail, whilst others call for creativity, logic, general knowledge, humour, strategy or the ability to make a good decision quickly.

The format naturally brings to light the way teams work under time pressure: who observes, who organises the information, who sets the direction, who rallies the group, and how the strategy changes when new challenges arise.

That is why Game of Skills is more than just an outdoor treasure hunt. It is a game about complementary skills, in which teams discover that performance does not stem from a single type of talent, but from the way people combine their strengths to achieve a common goal.
