βMy story with Universum actually starts a few years ago, in 2014 to be exact, when I arrived in Bucharest for a short stay after a 10-11 years in Doha, Qatar. So first, allow me to say a few words about my adventures in Doha So bear with me for a while....
While in Doha, I was planning global conferences such as the World Petroleum Congress, Coliseum (Sports Venues of the World), Qatar Foundation events and more... Not to brag, but I had a great career experience, a great life experience full of βadventuresβ if I can call them that. I have met and interacted with a great cultural diversity, met people I never dreamed I would, like Michio Kaku (really?!? You don't know who he is? Oh come on, look it up) or talking to the President of Trinidad and Tobago about my political views on Qatar... who could have dreamed of that!
All these wonderful but so humble people were so approachable and looked so normal in Qatar, unlike the rest of the world. There was no rigidity there, no masters, no arrogant people, everyone was respectful and humble. I learned that there is no one right way of doing things. It's just a matter of creativity and thinking.
Now fast forward to when I was checking out the possibility of moving to Bucharest in 2014 and I was surfing the market analyzing what the event agencies are like here. I did a research, I checked all the agencies and that's how I came across Universum Events. I liked the fact that, there was an agency that does interesting events and I was amazed that we have something like that in Romania. I checked their website a couple of times and wrote to them that I was interested in collaborating; again, and again, and again. I did that, a couple of times for 2 years... (I wanted so much to work with Universum!!!) Later, (last year) I even got a reply! The managing partner βCristian Hossuβ said he was looking forward to collaborate, but guess what!!!? It was not the right moment for me, since I was no longer in Bucharest at that time. Therefore, my chance to work with this wonderful organization that I was following with great interest went out of the window...! Sad and disappointed, I started getting offers in Europe and decided to move to France for another life adventure, which it was! Fun and yet boring I found myself in Aix-En-Provence, having difficulties finding accommodation there, so I decided to move and apply for Australia or Holland. I had lots of interviews, but none of them were what I expected, when out of the blue I got a beeery? late reply to one of my emails sent to Universum in the previous year or so?))))
The mail was sent at 6 am, again, from βMr.β Cristian Hossu, apologizing for the late reply and for the fact that he/Universum is so busy, given that at that time he was still in the office O.o.
It's funny how life doesn't let you wander for too long before it catches you and pulls you back on track.
That moment when you think you know what you want, but life knows best!
Packing my things again and moving back to Bucharest was a huge adjustment challenge, but I was so excited to work in a great team of 60 people and start a new chapter and a new challenge in life!
Now, here I am, learning to challenge myself as I challenge life to new adventures!
