Work Styles starts with participants considering their own working style and writing down their preferences on a number of given subjects. Next they get to know their peers by networking the room and finding out how others match their own styles. The aim of the game is to find as many matches as possible. With the group energized, it is time to form into teams of similar working styles.

The groups discuss and define the characteristics of their preferred working styles. Then they carry out a team activity. Next they form teams with as many different work styles as possible a similar activity to the last. A group facilitator then leads a group discussion exploring why it is productive to have a range of working styles within a team, but also why this may not be effective if there is limited appreciation of the different ways in which each other work.

Results: Research shows that the most effective teams are formed of people with a variety of working styles. However these differences can cause conflict if they are not appreciated. If understood, appreciated and embraced, they will lead to more effective innovation and ideation.

Knowing Me Knowing You – Work Styles is a team building activity that has been specifically designed to help participants understand each other, and appreciate how both those with similar and different working styles can be key contributors to the productivity of the team. It gives participants the opportunity to explore the way in which they personally tend to work.

Escape the Blizzard Online Online

Escape the Blizzard is an immersive and engaging in-person team-building winter wilderness survival challenge!

Using our app-based technology, teams will learn, practice and complete several survival skill zones: Navigation, Shelter, Knots, Fire, Animal Awareness, Water Filtration, Signaling, First Aid and Food.

Suddenly, the training is interrupted by an incoming storm alert. In just 30 minutes, the whole region will be hit by a storm that is expected to last for weeks, maybe months.

To survive, teams must collaborate as one, put their new skills to the test to release the fundamental survival tools that have been locked in a box.

The final test includes target accuracy, first aid stretcher challenge, deciphering morse code, shelter building and more. Completing the challenges correctly, will allow them to unlock the box that has the right tools to survive the blizzard!

Results: Escape the Blizzard has been specifically designed to compel team members to collaborate face-to-face.

They all explore role delegation and encourage group discussions on skill set strengths and weaknesses.

Teams must problem solve, perform and succeed in a fun ‘time pressured’ environment.

The training zones are focused on real life basic survival skills. Players will complete the game with an increased knowledge of surviving in the wilderness.

The immersive theme and engaging challenges promote discussion giving opportunity for storytelling of past experiences, creating the space for team members to get to know each other on a new and genuine level.

Fun, interactive, themed activity where teams work together to climb a virtual mountain.

Guided by the custom-built app, teams play the role of an Expedition Team on a multi-level journey. Fun and engaging challenges earn points for the team and move them up to the next level.

There will be different roles including ‘Climbers’ and the expedition ‘Leader’ who need to combine their various instructions and knowledge. The ultimate goal is to travel from Base Camp to the summit successfully – and take a celebratory team photo “on the top”.

There are options to include varied physical challenges, including a powerful CSR component. Our facilitator can run a debrief with the teams to discuss their key learnings through a facilitated process.

Results: Playing the role of a virtual Expedition team in fun, but time-pressured simulation, helps teams explore the new rules of engagement and become more effective virtual team players.

Effective communication, rapid decision making and strategic planning around Risk vs Reward are also vital learning outcomes.

The fun shared experience of problem solving, creativity and a team focus on the final goal is an experience that is directly transferable to work teams.

River Runner mixes the thrills of rafting with the task of running an extreme sports company and creates a thought-provoking, motivational indoor game.

The game is focused on balancing customer satisfaction and profitability.

Each team acts as a rafting company whose task is to organise an expedition down one of the world’s longest and most challenging rivers. Even if participants don’t go into water, they get access to a full-size inflatable boat, paddles, life jackets and all sorts of equipment which is vital for the expedition.

It takes quick and efficient team management to gather vital information, and a flexible approach to take advantage of unexpected events. It also requires additional information that is encountered along the river. Success is achieved by striking a balance between being the first rafting company to cross the river and satisfying demanding customers.

Maintaining a “clean” safety record is just as important as making a profit at the end of the game.

Results: River Runner demonstrates that effective planning and strategy implementation are essential to achieving success. So is energy and teamwork.

We’re bringing Top Gear to the board! Need 4 Speed is a miniature study in movement and time, a fast-paced activity that encourages participants to analyse and improve their performance both individually and as a group.
Faced with a jumble of components, teams must step on the gas and build a series of two-stroke, three-motion concept cars. Optimizing the process is critical as teams are challenged to form super-efficient assembly lines and decrease the build times of each model. The pressure increases because each model has to be built in a different style, with specific characteristics.
Quality is everything: the final result, from limousine models to sports cars, has to meet the customer’s expectations down to the smallest detail.

Speed will be rewarded! As the learning process progresses and each sample is analysed, the focus shifts from individual team times to sharing best practices for achieving the best assembly times at group level. Best times are analyzed against previous “best” times.

Never has they been a more important time to explore process improvement!

The objective of the game is to earn as much money as possible by coordinating and participating in a series of team projects. Each participant is given details of a project which requires the creation of the team with the specified skills and talents.

The project is implemented over a set period of time at a given location. After completing the project, participants are rewarded and can get involved in the next available project. Since all participants are both project managers and potential team members, it requires prioritization, negotiation, making personalized proposals and assertiveness to complete projects and earn rewards. In addition to supervising their own projects, participants need to negotiate with other players to help them complete as many projects as possible. This strategy is necessary to maximise profit.

 

Rewards for completing a project include: money, new skills, upgrades of certain talents and other bonuses. Rewards are only given to the project manager, who is then responsible for distributing them to his or her team members.

Speed of implementation is key, and creating the right mix for a team as quickly as possible by convincing other participants can be the deciding factor in winning the game.
