Yeah, are you bored of Secret Santa Basic and you definitely want an upgrade. Office Christmas is worth more than just handing out presents left and right.
We can try a couple of activations during the day and of course, a party in the evening (which we do very well at - check them!)
Today we're talking about what we can do in a day (or several) in the office to enhance team entertainment and put a twist on the famous Secret Santa.Β When it comes time to choose a present for one of our colleagues, many questions arise: βWhat would he/she like?β, βWhere can I find the present?β, βWhen can I go shopping?β etc.
To help you and get rid of these uncertainties, here are some fun and original ideas for a different and relaxed Secret Santa.
Hoop
It's perfect when you want to bring a fun atmosphere to your Christmas party, as well as being fun... it gets the blood flowing. :)
Just like in the traditional Secret Santa, we need to set our gift budget from the start. This time for general gifts, not for a specific person. Once the presents are bought, it's best to gather them all under the tree in your office (because what is Christmas without a Christmas tree?).
Once you've taken the famous photos with dozens of presents, it's essential toΒ Methodically place all the presents on the floor, grouped, all around the room. On each gift, place a small object so that a plastic circle fits easily over it. Examples for these objects could be: a bottle, a hat, a glass, etc.
When you decide to distribute the presents, group into teams and assign each team a group of presents. Then, one at a time, everyone on the team takes turns trying to throw the hoop over the item. Whoever succeeds keeps the gift, whoever doesn't, loses their turn and waits for another turn.
Balloon sprint
If the hoop will get your blood pumping a little, the balloon sprint will give you a little dose of adrenaline as well as a good opportunity for fun. We keep the sameΒ start, budget + gifts, and once the gifts are bought, the person in charge collects them all before the party.
Assign each gift a number, then write the same numbers on small pieces of paper. Put the pieces of paper into balloons so that each balloon contains a number, then blow up all the balloons.
At the party, fill the room with the balloons you've just prepared and line them all up against the wall. Count to 3 and the game is on! Each of you has to catch a balloon, then you have to pop that balloon to find the number inside, and that number is the pair of a number on a present.
Treasure hunt
Keeping with the idea of movement, another fun idea is treasure hunting!Β The first part you already know, budget + gifts + gift pack. Apooooo AHide presents around the office in the most unusual places possible, then note where you've stashed them so you can give clues to your colleagues. Ideally, you provide a document with these clues, either physically or send a link to all colleagues.
Everyone starts by going into the office, and when someone finds a gift, they keep it and get out of the game so they can give other colleagues the chance to find their long-sought present. .
Secret Santa Thematic (for small groups)
As the title suggests, we bring you a classic Secret Santa with a new twist.Β
Set a theme from the start, such as Super Heroes, Star Wars, Harry Potter etc. For this example we decided to use recycling.
Once you've chosen your theme, set your budget. Each of you will need to buy gifts that come from recycled materials. This time, you can buy certain gifts for your designated person.
We know there's a Grinch in every office... or even more, but we promise that even they will be amused and entertained if you decide to make a different kind of Secret Santa; ;
